THE COACH YARD

Rock Island - Southern Pacific
1940-42 Arizona Limited 7-car Passenger Train;

Short lived in the annals of The Official Guide, the Arizona Limited was a first class, lightweight, steam-powered luxury train operated by the Rock Island - Southern Pacific between Chicago and Phoenix over the Golden State Route.

Closely resembling the 49er, the Arizona Limited departed from its terminals every other day between December 15th and April 3rd during the winter seasons of 1940-42 at which time it became a casualty of World War II.

The Coach Yard has produced the seven car Arizona Limited in HO scale Factory pro-finished; lettered and painted with interiors as per the prototype. All cars are two-tone gray except Observation "Muskingum River" which is brushed stainless steel.
